Strengthening Civic Education Programs across Local Governments

The Local Government Civic Education Programs hub exists to support practitioners who design, coordinate, and improve civic education programs, also known as citizens academies and local government 101 programs, at the local government level.

We believe that informed, engaged citizens are essential to effective democratic governance. By connecting practitioners, sharing resources, and highlighting research and best practices, we aim to strengthen local government civic education programs across the country.

This hub is maintained by the School of Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in partnership with civic education coordinators nationwide.
